Located near the bottom of Kingshill on Westcott Place, La Carbonara replaced what used to be the Arkells Ales Pub, the Wild Deer. They’ve done a great job inside to create a fresh clean atmosphere, was quite busy even though it was early evening, always a good sign. The owner, a passionate Italian, greeted me warmly and the staff very friendly.

Websiteless Taj Mahal wins Asian Restaurant Award

Visit Shaw Rigde Leisure Park in West Swindon and you’ll find one of the best Asian restaurants in the UK, the Taj Mahal run by Arju Miah. The Taj Mahal offers, well we aren’t sure, because we couldn’t find their website! Call them on 01793 872872 for more information.

Restaurants with No Websites and No Email!

We searched for ‘taj mahal swindon’ in Google but were unable to find their website! What is it about restaurants and websites, well maybe it’s just restaurants owners and managers are so busy running their establishments and they come from a food background so many of them just don’t get the internet thing. Often they prefer to advertise via existing online services such as Hot Frog, Yell, The Best of, Ufind Us and so on, where the sales person takes the lead and makes the effort to create a micro website for them and that’s enough. Otherwise they advertise in local newspapers. Looking through Google there are around 20 – 30 websites mentioning the Taj Mahal in Swindon, if the Taj Mahal could leverage those mentions into links leading to a website, they could have special offers and events and get more people to try them out!

Search Google Maps and no Taj Mahal in West Swindon, but there is only one in Cricklade, they have no website either! It’s a same with a lot of other restaurants we have contacted, many of them aren’t in the slightest bit interested in online promotion and some of them didn’t even seem to understand English very well. 4 restaurants of the 6 we called today didn’t even have an email address.

The Pizza Hut fast food place on Cricklade Road was broken into last night by two people wearing black according to the Adver, they stole money and one wonders why money is kept in the restaurant at night! Anyway, the event isn’t going to put a dent in the firms outlook, Pizza Hut belongs to Yum! Brands, Inc., annual sales at $9.4bn and the world’s largest restaurant chain with over 37,000 outlets and brands such as KFC and Taco Bell to boot.

The robbers didn’t steal any pizza, which is high in both calories and fat and while every restaurant uses different ingredients, one slice will generally cost you at least 250 to 300 calories. A survey by the Independent found that the Pizza Hut Cheesy Bites pizza had 2,560 calories – 60 more than the recommended daily intake for a man – large quantities of white flour and gloopy tasteless cheese! Our advice – visit a local independent restaurant and enjoy some hand made variety.

Better than the real thing (real tapas); the best restaurant in Swindon; the best tapas I have ever tasted; these are just some of the reviews about Los Gatos at TripAdvisor.co.uk. Los Gatos in Wood Street, Old Town is listed top out of 56 restaurants. The Spanish Tapas bar and cafe is small but cosy with a busy but sometimes very friendly atmosphere with a Spanish theme (especially Tuesday nights for some Spanish guitar).
